Thoughtful Christmas Gifts for your Toddler
We definitely try to be pretty minimalist when it comes to Christmas, but, there are always a few things I am excited to tuck under the tree. Gifting for children can be tricky, hard to find a balance and well, half the time when they are toddlers, they are just as content playing with the box or the wrapping. We also prefer to gift experiences rather than things which has generally gone over really well, thankfully!
This year there were a few items I couldn’t resist! I am on a mission to rid our house of plastic but I feel like that’s an uphill battle. We do what we can. I am a big fan of toys that aren’t overstimulating and that have multiple options for play.
Grimms Rainbow & Grimms Wave: okay, this one is amazing! Providing open-ended play, the Grimms Rainbow is a classic! It’s great for open ended play and because it’s imaginative, it is good for different ages to play with.
The possibilities are endless for creative play and it’s a huge bonus that it looks amazing too so, I may be a little more excited than the toddler.
I splurged a little on this but, I think it’s well worth it. The Love Every Subscription brings a package full of play every three months. The package is full of age-appropriate toys based on your child’s age. All items are intentionally designed for learning at each stage and are beautiful utilizing different mediums.
I can never resist a new book. We love these board books from Usborne. They always grab my son’s attention! They are super fun and full of rhyming questions for little children to answer by looking at and talking about the charming illustrations. A lovely way to encourage young children to talk and form sentences, and a delightful book to enjoy together.
4. Hape Toys
I love Hape Toys! The quality and the attention to detial are top knotch! They are sustainable toys and made of safe materials.
As the world’s largest producer of wooden toys, Hape is clearly dependent on the use of natural materials. A full line of bamboo toys takes advantage of the special properties of this highly renewable material. Plastic parts are ensured durable enough to last for generations in order to encourage toys to be passed down rather than tossed out.
My 13 month old has shown a recent interest in simple puzzles and he loves anything with wheels so these two should be right on the mark!
This is a stocking stuffer! We have this cup and LOVE it! Super high quality, durable, made of stainless steel. It’s a great cup for toddlers!
