10 things to do in St.Lucia off resort with kids!

Just a few of our favourite things to do in St. Lucia… there are so many to choose from!

Pigeon Island Beach/Park

This is seriously my favourite spot on the entire island. It’s so picturesque and is rich in history and nature. Definitely a place you must stop. Pack a picnic lunch, your walking shoes, and your bathing suit. You could literally spend all day hanging out in this magical spot. View from the top of the Fort. Older children could climb up no problem! The view is totally worth it and it’s amazing to watch the storms roll on by.

Horseback Riding at The International Pony Club

This is a great place to take children for a quick pony ride! If you’re staying in the Gros Islet area, this would be a perfect afternoon activity. You can ride around the yard or adults can take a much more scenic adventure on the Atlantic Coast.

Fond Doux Tour - This was one of my favourite experiences in St. Lucia! Fond Doux, a former plantation, is now an eco friendly resort. You can take a tour through the lush gardens and experience the historical chocolate process. Chocolate is part of the history of St. Lucia and getting to experience this rich history… good and bad was really wonderful to take in. The cocoa fruit is also really tasty. Gabrion loved it!

Mineral Baths. The Minerals baths are located in the botanical gardens and they were so nice and relaxing, we could have stayed there all day. The baths were originally built in 1784 for the French troops of King Louis XVI, so they could benefit from the therapeutic waters.

Fond Latisab Creole Heritage Park - A little off the beaten path, this was such a wonderful experience! They demonstrate how traditional Casava bread was made - it tastes amazing! They also share a traditional Creole dance and they have a nutmeg garden!

Catamaran/Boat Ride - this is perhaps for older children but SO much fun! They offer it through the hotels as well as privately! A must do for a fun day on the water!

Pigeon Island Beach/Park

Pigeon Island Beach/Park

We had a few pic-nics here! We loved stopping at the local bakery first to grab some snacks before heading into the park! It was a great spot for Gabrion to run around and let off some energy!

Zip Lining - this was SO much fun! We did Zip Lining at the Mourne Coubaril Historical Adventure Park! Amazing! History and the lush rainforest. Honestly, you need to make a stop here! You can do a tour and learn about some Creole history as well!

Top of Tete Paul Nature Trail - This was unexpected and so fun! The view was amazing! The walk up to the top wasn’t too bad and the tour guide was wonderful! I highly recommend!

Botanical Gardens - such a stunning walk. So peaceful and leads to Diamond Falls. So much information about different types of plants, trees and vegetation. It is interesting to learn about the history of plants on the island and how some were brought from other places, like bamboo!

Marina - the marina is fun to walk around and the boys enjoyed looking at all the boats!

Creole Bakery. Find yourself a Creole bakery and take in some of the authentic local staples. Pictured above is traditional creole bread. Creole bread is made in an oil drum.
